Here are a few of the many projects Challenge Air has been actively involved in.
Cessna C208B Grand Caravan 14-seat Configuration Change
We have received approval from the SACAA for the Caravan 208B STC which accommodates a 12+2 seating configuration.
Mounting System for Electronic Flight Bags
We have developed an aviation-certified holder for an iPad (or other tablets) to allow for easier use of the EFB. Pilots complain that their tablets are damaged when they remove them from the conventional velcro EFB mounting. With our elegant quick-release design this is no longer an issue.
C-130 Pallet Retention Airdrop System
Challenge Air has completed the design and approval of a pallet retaining airdrop system which allows for the distribution of supplies in much-needed areas of the world.
AGNAV Installation Approval
We assist in the approval of AGNAV system installations.
Aircraft LIDAR System Installation
We are capable of installing new LIDAR Systems into aircraft and ensure approval of the installation.
In addition to the maintenance management and junior engineer training programmes, Challenge Air has developed an aeronautical engineering subsidiary, which has proved its abilities with various projects successfully completed. These projects include re-engining of various aircraft such as the basic replacement of certified powerplants, both piston, and turbine, under standard maintenance requirements to fulfill modification of aircraft by re-certifying with a powerplant and propeller combination not before used in the aircraft type.
Challenge Air Project Management also undertakes complete or partial refurbishment programmes. We will manage every aspect of the refurbishment, from obtaining quotations from suitable service providers, through to final test flights; coordinating and monitoring everything along the way.
Challenge Air has, at its disposal, experts in various fields of Aeronautics, enabling it to tackle a wide variety of aviation-related projects, research, and development and general project management.
